Airlines: Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand.

Stops:

1 Stop allowed in the Far East: choose from Hong Kong, Tokyo or Shanghai.

Plus

1 Stop in the USA: choose from San Francisco or Los Angeles

Plus

Pacific Island stopovers are also allowed for an additional fare of £110 per stop on the Southbound journey (London to Auckland) or £220 per stop

on the Northbound trip (Auckland to London). Choose from The Cook Islands (Raratonga), Tonga or Western Samoa (Apia).

If you pay the higher Australia fare, then you can have the option of visiting both Australia and New Zealand. Airlines: Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand.

Stops:

1 Stop allowed in the Far East: choose from Hong Kong, Tokyo or Shanghai.

Plus

1 Stop in the USA: choose from San Francisco or Los Angeles

Plus

Pacific Island stopovers are also allowed for an additional fare of £110 per stop on the outbound journey or £220 per stop

on the return trip. Choose from Fiji, The Cook Islands (Raratonga), Tonga or Western Samoa (Apia).

If you pay the higher Australia fare, then you can have the option of visiting both Australia and New Zealand. However if you only want to visit Sydney in Australia you can pay the lower New Zealand Fare and still visit the two countries.  e.g. London - Hong Kong - Sydney - Auckland - San Francisco - London is an Auckland fare

Additional Stopover options

In addition to the stopovers shown above there are other stopover options possible provided you are prepared to make your own way between certain cities - for example Air New Zealand operate from Vancouver to New Zealand but you would need to fly into Los Angeles and make your own way to Vancouver. This means a surface sector between them. The same thing applies to Shanghai. With Virgin Atlantic you can fly into Shanghai and then make your own way to Hong Kong to carry on to Sydney or New Zealand.

The places you can visit on your Virgin and Air NZ RTW special either direct or with a surface sector are:-

Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Osaka, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Adelaide, The Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga

A question we're often asked is why cant we book this online. Well the truth is you can but it would cost a fortune (over £8000) so what we've tried to do on this site is give you as much information as we can, so that you can call up and book with an expert. So here's a very rough guide to stopovers but please don't hold us to it - Mainly because there are many more options and there are some destinations you can only fly into but not out of (which are called surface sectors in the travel industry) ie you need to fly into one destination and out of another destination....yup we know its tricky, so you do need to talk to one of our consultants on 0844 844 2540 if you have any queries and to find your perfect (and affordable) itinerary within mileage..
